After a really stressful day, I decided the best course of action would be to drive up the canyon and take it out on the trails. Hit the trail just off of tibblefork, and started going up. The colors were fantastic, but the trail was a lot steeper than I remembered. It also didn't help I heard the occasional rustling in the trees to my left and right. I could only put up with the never ending incline and my bearanoia for about 1.5 miles before turning back around. In case you were wondering, the rustling was a buck that stared at me for a few minutes while I stared at his sharp little antlers until he bounced away. Once I was off of that trail and still needing 4 miles, I headed up another (and much more open) trail/dirt road. Ran two miles up, then back down, and took an ice bath in a chilly mountain spring whilst trout swam about my toes. Overall, I'd say it was a success.
