| | 'Race' today was really cold. Wasn't quite feeling myself yet, but Jamie had me tempo it so it's fine. Still got a medal so wahoo.

| | Well Jamie wasn't there to tell me how far to go so...I just tried to do all of my regular high mileage. First seven felt pretty good til the last bit, I felt my right achilles tighening up and it felt kinda funny/painful...but I was only 2 miles away from full mileage so I thought some grass running would help...but it still hurt and got worse after a mile so I stopped. Also shoutout to Saltboy for signing to ISU, he's hecka fast and I love that kid.

| | Warm up mile had my achillies/soleus complaining a bit...but I went into the workout anyway and it left. Felt like I was back to my normal self as far as speed goes, I nailed all my times on the ladder (200@800 pace, 400@mile pace, 800@2mile, 1600@5k, then back down) I felt like my kick the last 200 was really strong and overall it was a solid workout...I was fighting the strange urge to chuck the whole time though so that was different...normally that doesn't happen til the end. Anyway, started the cooldown feeling alright, but by the last mile it had digressed into double sideaches, a creaky knee, and a screaming soleus so I stopped at 7 even though I was hoping for at least 8. Smh. Finished on the bikes..I promise I'll do abs.

| | Well I found out several things today: my pegasus 33s have officially died, it is indeed possible to roll out for more than an hour, Skyridge highschool is approximately .69 miles to run around, and I now know exactly what the driving range looks like. I was scared my soleus would act up too much while I was out on a trail, so I pretty much did all my mileage around the skyridge campus...thrilling, let me tell you...but honestly I'm just so glad I made it all 7 miles without anything alarming enough to force me to stop. Hoping it will feel even better tomorrow.
P.s.
I signed to USU today so I guess it's official or something

| | Felt pretty good during the hill ladders today, it just built some good confindence. Soleus was pretty much normal the whole time so that's fantastic. Cooled down with Watson, then did abs and rolled out after. Went and got new shoes after that so that's a win!

NXR (3.1 Miles) 00:18:47, Place overall: 31 | | Well, where do I begin?...I blew up. Completely. Here I was in Arizona and I actually thought I'd have a shot, if only a slight one, at qualifying for nationals. I don't know if it was in my legs or my mind or maybe both, but something was so off. I felt like I was running through molasses. All I could think about was how I needed to be going faster than I was, but I couldn't. I was wrecked after I finished even though I got my slowest time of the season and I got beaten by girls that haven't been able to touch me all year. To sum it up, I sucked. But I can't be too mad about it...for long, at least. I can't expect myself to race my best all the time, even if I really want to...and even when it really counts. But hey, the trip was still fun. I still have amazing team mates and coaches...I even still found the fuzziest blanket of my life in a Wal-Mart around 11:00 at night. Am I happy with my race? Nope. But I guess I'm not gonna stop racing or running so I might as well get over it.
